Indian Firecrackers

Today, I came across disturbing pictures of workers in India making firecrackers with gun power with bare hands. One picture shows a lot of gun power spread on the floor as workers used their hands to mix it and fill empty cardboard shells with the powder.

Gap is also being criticized for using underage workers to make their products.  This is of course not the first time a company in US has gotten bad press for participating in the widely known practice of creating factories in third world countries where labor is cheap. To keep the labor even cheaper and profit margin higher, they can go to any extent.

In a country where we go to extreme extend to fight for animal rights, I feel like such a hypocrite...
