I hope this year brings lots of happiness and turns out to be a good year for everyone. While people from all over came to New York to ring in the New Year, I went out. I was in Virginia watching times square from the comfort of my bed.
Yesterday I was driving back from Virginia to New York and what an awful weather we were having. It's a 6 hours drive without any traffic and I was cruising down at around 65~70 mph. I made it more than half way home without any hiccups. When I hit New Jersey that's when the rain started. Believe me I have driven in rain and snow storms before but this time a couple of recent events had me nervous. Just a few days ago my car skidded on a wet road when taking an exit from a highway. The oncoming car would've hit me if the driver wasn't driving extremely slowly. Then just a few minutes before entering NJ a car in front of me hit a deer (where was the poor animal trying to go?) and it came flying onto the traffic but thankfully missed my car. So I drove for almost 2 hours like a blind bat, not being able to always tell if I'm in my lane, thinking that my car is going to skid any moment now. The twisted part is that I was never more excited to hit the New York traffic. I thought to myself that I may get home late but at least I won't be crushed by some speeding truck on the New Jersey Turnpike.
