Time to rejoice, as we will once again be able to take subways to work. Word has it that the executive board of the Transport Workers Unit has voted 36-5-2 in favor of ending the transit strike (source: NY1). Phewwww! Hopefully by tomorrow MTA workers will start returning to work.
I think at the end of this mess, the City of New York is the looser, since it is estimated that atleast $1 Billion have been lost in holiday revenues already. I have lost respect for the union leaders as well as MTA for not being able to come to term on the new contract.
